Wax Screen vs. Focus Screen????

Does any one has any experiencie using the DIY wax screen instead if a brand focus screen????... Whats the diffrence in the light loss or grain???...there are several sites where they sell vibrating devices that can be used with both of them but Im not sure to make one because it can be just waste of time... I need your advice and experience...

I have heard the wax ones provide a great picture but they can be very delicate.
