I searched for similar topic but couldn't find any here or the Net.
I was wondering what is the best route to insert fast- or slow- motion shots in a project.
For example, I have shot some takes in 50 or 37 fps with the HVX [PAL version] and now I'm editing in a 25 fps timeline in Premiere CS3.
What I do now is slow down the footage speed to match the 25 fps speed.
In this way, a 50 fps shot is slowed down to 50 % and I get the slo-mo effect.
I'm wondering if this is the actual right way to do that? Just with the speed or is there a more established method?
My other concern is with other speeds, for example 18 fps or 12 fps? It's actually not exactly 18 fps but 17.86 fps [or something like that].
If speed adjustment in Premiere is the way, what are the exact percentages for all the standard framerate speeds in the HVX?
I guess this percentages should be very accurate to get the real slo-mo or fast-mo footage, otherwise Premiere starts adding virtual frames and degrading quality of the material.
I hope I have explained my situation clear enough.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Sorry - this thread should be in the Workflow section. If the Moderator can move it there? I apologize...
