Hey,
Unfortunately, I did not learn of the benefits of DV Rack until after watching HVX bootcamp.
Now, on the DVD; it's implied that dvrack comes free with your other software. I just got my HVX200 about a week ago. Has that offer expired?
Sorry if this has been asked a million times before. I could not find any info on this via the search function.

I'm fairly certain DV Rack was never free, nor part of any offer or rebate with the HVX200.

I'm not aware of dvrack ever being free.
Regardless, it is now called onlocation and is included in Adobe's CS3 production studio and can only be purchased as part of the whole package. It is no longer available as a stand alone application

It was never free, but as Jason said it's now included as part of the Adobe Creative Suite 3 bundle.

Great loss for all of the FCP and other-than-CS3 NLE folks.
Fortunately, I've got mine.
If you see it on ebay or whatever, buy it. I've even seen a guy advertising that he is selling DV Rack and the laptop comes with it.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully, I'll be upgrading to CS3 soon anyway.
Barry, the HVX Bootcamp DVDs were incredible. Best camera related investment I've made.

That irks me about Adobe. Instead of just buying the app you want, you need to buy a package. Makes me want to buy HDV rack, and not Premiere. It's been bugging me lately anyway! Man I hate being irked!

Does it have the HDV plug in?

If you want to use DV Rack with the HVX, you need DV Rack 2.0 HD -- DV Rack with the HDV Powerpak won't work.

I use an HD100.

Lairhair, you have version 2.0? I'd definitely be interested in buying it from you (price depending). Drop me an email.

OnLocation is the new name for DV Rack. It's the same product.

You might have a bear of a time getting DV Rack HD 2.0 up and running because of an insanely difficult and no longer working activation system that has to go through a company called Softwrap. Do a search on it and you will read about activation horror stories.
I would almost recommend getting Adobe Premiere CS3 just to avoid all of the hassle with activating Serious Magic's version.

Still got it. On eBay at the moment so I can't run it in the marketplace. If anyone is seriously interested PM me and I can tell you about it or pull it from eBay if there is serious interest.
