I'm really looking forward to this. X3 wasn't that good, but a solo Wolverine movie, will be kick ass! Hell, I'm even looking forward to the rumored X4 set with the younger mutants like Iceman, and Shadowcat, and hopefully they'll bring Gambit in (my favorite X-Men character)... Rumors are that Sawyer from LOST will play Gambit, and to me that's PERFECT casting.
Anyway, Wolverine, is supposed to be an action packed, blood bath film. Can't wait.

Yep, leave that to Bret Rattaoner* he is no Brian Singer.

Last I heard, Josh Holloway didn't want to play Gambit, because the character is too much like Sawyer.

That's what I heard as well. They approached him to be in X3. Maybe he'll do X4... in the latest Wizard magazine, it mentions a quote from him saying he was approached to do Gambit, but it didn't say whether or not he declined...
He is PERFECT casting though, and it'd be awesome to see him as Gambit.

You know, I never liked Gambit... (ducks)
As for the Wolverine movie... after X3, it's hard to muster any enthusiasm for this. Also, I thought Hugh Jackman was great as the character, particularly in the first one, but I don't know that I need a whole movie about him (or should I say another whole movie about him, since X3 was kind of a Wolvie fest).

I wasn't a huge fan of the series. Rogue is a wuss, Cyclops can't do anything but blast stuff, Jean Grey isn't amazing at anything. I also thought they should have started at the begining, with the original group, adding plots and characters as they went.

Aww, that's a bit harsh. Singer directed The Usual Suspects, for a start. Ratner, on the other hand... :undecided

The topic is the X Men. When it is this group of films we are talking about, I have to agree with Spidey. All 3 were equally sucky, regardless of the Director.

I call that a fluke because he hated making that movie. plus he never made anytthing near that again.

Agreed completely. He's a very overrated director.

Hopefully they actually allow wolverine to kill people and be as violent as he is supposed to be.

This should be a more feral Wolvie. He doesn't mellow till the X men and Xavier. At least that is how I think his storyline was.

It'll be PG-13........I doubt we'll see the sort of gore you should see when Wolverine attacks.
Not that I'm not looking forward to it. I think Hugh Jackman is a great actor.
But, if it were going to be rated R, I'd be extra pumped.
Enough half-assing his abilities with the claws, as well as his ability to heal.
