So I watched Zodiac and would have to say that this film should end the discussion on wether compression makes a differance or not in image quality. I have read article apon article on this issue, but now i should all be put to rest.

They shot Zodiac uncompressed/direct to drive on the Thompson Viper. Miami Vice was also shot on the Viper but was compressed to tape. Miami Vice looked digital and like crap, but Zodiac looked as good or better than film. Same camera, but totally different results.

Finally saw this movie last night. Over 2.5 hours long and not a boring second. Fincher is a great director. Didn't read the book but from what I gathered, that sick fat f@ck Arthur Leigh was the Zodiac. The scene where he ties up the young couple by the lake in broad day late then stabs them like twenty times each was an amazing and brutal scene.
