720 24P HD video download test..

I shot this the same day I posted the other test footage.... There are a few seconds of the other footage in here but 90 percent is new HD content...
I was just doing color grading tests and DOF tests with a Nikon 8mm F1.4 lens...
Let me know what you think..... Good bad or indifferent...
Also does anyone know of a good color grading book or course?
I would love to find one, that could improve my color grading...

Were the rapid fluctuations in the color of the image for some of the shots done on purpose? I also noticed a lot of vignetting on the sides. You might need to zoom the stock lens in some more to get rid of that.
At least one of the shots had some sort of focus issue. For example, the shot with the white truck looked like you had slapped a diffusion filter in front of your lens.
If you haven't studied color theory, it may help in your quest to get good at color grading. Betty Edwards writes fantastic books. She has one on color theory. You can see it at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1585422193/.
Good luck. I'm sure there are some people here who have focused on color grading and could point you in a better direction. But, color theory is a good thing to know in creating beautiful images.

I thougt many of the shots were great looking, but then again, I love oversat colors.
Try selecting different colors (The reds, the blues, etc) and desaturating them a touch. Altering hues on select colors slightly can add nice results as well.
Color grading is an art, but isn't that complicated; it's a matter of experiment and practice.

Soft focus issues are caused by not using an external monitor when I was doing the tests.. It is hard to get accurate focus without one and the redrock micro,,
The vignetting is caused by the side side of the redrock micro motor.. which I have since corrected....
I will play with the colors some more and post some different perspectives..
Thanks for your input.....
Yeah I love over saturated stuff myself.. But maybe next time I will play with diffused colors and softer tone....
