1/4" or 3/8" hardware

If you were making & purchasing camera equipment would you want all the harware to be 1/4" or 3/8"? I'm trying to make everything use one size so I don't have to carry around a million different sizes of bolts. I prefer 1/4", but will the perception that it's not "beefy" enough? What about guys running larger cameras, is all your hardware 3/8"?

Make it do both.

But if you only have space for one, then do 1/4"-20, it's more universal.

A 1/4"-20 bolt will hold a LOT .. especially a good (stainless steel) one.
