G' day i am about to order a HVX and from the site i am buying from they have two PAL versions, but at two different prices, and the specs on both are identical.

I have emailed the company yesterday, but they are yet to reply and need to buy asap.

Anyways i was just wondering what might be the dffernece between the two?
One is- Panasonic AG-HVX200 DVCPRO HD Camcorder PAL (http://www.globalmediapro.com/do/product/2593)
And the other is
Panasonic AG-HVX200E DVCPRO HD Camcorder PAL (http://www.globalmediapro.com/do/product/1946)

Both saying PAL, but one only has the "E" at the end.

They are super reliable even though there prices are suss!

Thanks!

My guess is that one (the more expensive one) is the "Authorized Dealer" one -- covered under the warranty -- and the other is "gray market" (purchased outside of the dealer supply chain).

If it has the HVX200E it was intended for Europe and should be covered under warranty there.

So you are saying the "E" stands for europe?

But there can be another pal version without the "E"

Before you order : Did you take tax and import duty into your account and than you will see that there is a minimum difference with Authorized dealer where you life.

I think it is a "gray market" company, but they have 12 month warranty

I don't know... that site looks dodgy.

As Cane said, worry about import duties. I live in Australia and got a cam from the states, our friendly government made sure I paid the 10% GST + 4% import duty. That's A LOT extra.

Also had to pay GST, will get to claim it back in tax next year though.

Do you know what percentage of GST you can claim back? I'm doing my tax in a couple weeks.
