hey guys,

here are 2 spots i shot for the heinz contect.

first one was shot with the hvx200 + redrock, directed by joey garner. has some kick ass animation, is a must see. It was very overcast, which sucked ass and the guy who let us shoot in the park gave us 5 minutes to get the f out of there so we has to pull of 4 shots in 5 minutes, how luck of us.

check it out ... http://www.motionplace.com/movies/heinz_web.mov

the second one is a stop motion project i did with the d80. check it out, it is very cool.

www.vahepapazyan.com then click on the heinz - seductive spot.

It was fun working with little sets and moving lights inches instead of feet, but very difficult to master.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK, your opinion is very important. please dont hesitate to comment, even if you think it sucks. let me know why and ill thank you for it.:)

The park one is amazing man.
The animation looks fantastic.
Very cute story. I could definitely see this as a national ad.
I was kind of hoping for a v/o at the end.

Good work. I thought both were TV worthy.

thanks guys, I gave up some very high paying jobs to be a part of these because i thought they were very well written. glad you guys like it. and i dont consider "not bad" a compliment, so thanks for the insult.

also not bad = good, i'd lay off of people if you want people to comment.. we could all blow smoke up your butt, but what good would that do anyone..

Very nice indeed and very good concept.
I notice one thing though (and that is not your fault), is it me or does it seem to suffer from the infamous soft edges (around the edges of the frame) from the M2 adapter...?

both were amazing. I liked the first concept a little bit more than the second, but overall they were both insanely good

I saw it too. I normally don't advocate the ultra soft edged, hyper shallow look but for whatever reason it seems to fit really well here.

the soft edges is always worth the sacrifice of having interchangable lenses and shallow depth of field.

The park one is extremely well done but kinda boring but the second one with the label peeling off -- very funny with touch of creativity.

Love the one with the little girl. Cute, simple, well shot, and the animation was spot on! Nice work!

i dont know much about this specific competition besides the cash prize and possible national broadcast, to me this clearly is a cute, great, simple and effective concept. I'd really like to see who wins this. To be honest, after submitting in one contest myself i found it was truly a waste of time, and unfortunately online voting is always rigged, and they always end up choosing the crap home made in your room kinda stuff. Which is irionic to me, because clearly this would be in like the top 3 in my opinion because it looks professional. But if you dont win, it's a great piece to add to your portfolio. But i'm honestly sick of these online contests. I'm sure they own your piece of work now that you've submitted it.

Both of these are really well done. On the stop motion, how did you use the D80? Did you use a similar technique that they used on Corpse Bride with a monitor tap on the viewfinder that fed into a DDR?

I thought the vignetting at the beginning detracted from it. Everything else was astounding though.

for the d80 i used the software that comes with the camera. it allows you, vis USB, to take pictures, change exposure and focus by hitting enter.

as for the vingetting, i had 5 minutes to pull that shot off, if i had more time, i would of pulled the ketchup back and shot it with a 35 prime. but this is what happend when u shoot without permits.

Nice work! I really like the little girl commercial. Great concept. What program did you use for the CGI?
