I own a DVX100A, but I was able to use an XL2 for a day and I put together this video from the footage. Keep in mind I hadn't used the camera before.

Hey, that's pretty nice! I'm impressed that the camera managed to keep the highlights from clipping despite the hot sun. The footage comes out very well and I can see that it wouldn't require much tweaking to give it that cinematic look. Definitely a good example for those people who think the stock XL2 is unable to deliver "film-look" colorimetry.

What kind of correction and grading did you use?

I only put color correction on 2 shots, and I used Auto Color for those. All the other shots are straight from the camera (with added vignette).

Thanks Jade. The XL2 is very good at crushing the blacks and scene colors are good, the only let down I found were the skin tones.
