is there anything wrong during a wedding to have a xlr extended cable hooked up to the sound board straight to the hxv to capture good audio? And if i wanted to have chan 2 set to a Lav wireless or hand held mic would this mess up post work? Chanel two will import separate as audio file, right? oh, and this would be tape recording.

Yep, you can use the 2 channels to record 2 seperate (mono) sources of sound in place of one stereo source.

Just be sure to set each channel to line or Mic level (and adjust) as apropriate.

mcvideo,
I'm sure you thought of this already but instead of running an XLR to the mixer... use a wireless transmitter out of the board. That way you have more mobility. Just make sure to where your headsets the entire so you can monitor the quality of what you are recording.
