Ahh, I was all set to go to sleep, just had one quick bit of work, dubbing some
P2 footage to tape. I've done this plenty of times with no problem, usually
with overcranked footage shot in 720P 24PN.

This footage is half clips in 1080 30P Video Cam time lapse and half 720P 30P
overcranked. I can play back the clips on the P2 side, of course selecting
the right Cam and recording format so some will play while others are in red.

However, not matter what I set up on the P2 side, when I go to dub to tape,
all the clips are in red. I need this footage for work tomorrow but it''s just not
happening. I've double/triple checked the settings and gone back and looked at
the book but I can't figure it out. Anybody know what' s up? Thanks!

Okay, just for kicks, I recorded a clip in 720P 24PN, after I typed the above, and that dubs to tape,
but according to the book I should be able to dub 1080 or other footage. Still puzzled!

You have to turn the thumbnails off and go in the menu and set the playback mode to match the mode of the footage you're using.

Excellent! Thanks Barry!

I've always been able to dub 720P 24PN because as I just discovered that
happened to be the selected setting. Dubbing my 1080 footage right now!

Have you used this camera before?

Seriously, the book and DVDs are great. I recommend them all the time and
people with experience say that they never buy "those things" (my initial
attitude) but then when they do they realize that despite what they felt they
knew, they realize that they've just saved months of learning on
their own (also my humble realization.)

Thanks again.
