am i capable of getting a wide angle lens (something similer to what wes anderson films with) on a stock HVX lens? i know i would be capable of doing this with a 35mm adaptor; but a wide angle lens that could attatch to the stock lens would be amazing. any help would be greatly appreciated!

the stock lens is VERY wide. adding another WA lens will cause serious barrel distortion, andthat never looks filmic.

But, yes... it can be done. There are folks that make them. Schneider optics and 16x9 are a couple...

That'll give you some idea of what it looks like when you put a wide angle adapter on the end of an hvx...
But, like Timur said, the HVX lens is already pretty dang wide.... And, there are always compromises when when you start putting things on the end of your lens....

I just recently got the Century WA from B&H ($400) - LOVE IT! It connects directly to the stock lens just like the lens hood does - nice secure connection. Lots of barrell distortion, but there are some ways to work with that using After Effects, et al.

The HVX has a touch of barrel distortion naturally. I bought a cheapie cavision adapter for under $200 from adorama, and I can still use the zoom to about 30mm. I'll put some examples up if you want.

The Schneider / Century Optics 0.6x WA adapter also throws in the towel at 30mm -- it is not zoom-through and loses focus past that mark.
