Mixing SD and HD

I just got done with a shoot. Ran out of P2 Store room and P2 card room so I popped in a miniDV tape to get some interviews.

Anyone have any ideas on what the best solution is for integrating both into an HD timeline. Can I uprez the SD to 720 or will that degrade the image too much? Any suggestions? The thing I want to avoid is downconverting all the HD to SD. I only want to do this on the output.

upconverted HVX DV actually looks pretty good. On a soccergame i was shooting, i was getting beauty shots in Slomo, in 720p, while Mark Harris was getting the 90min game on DV. Later on when he cut them together, although the color blocking was atrocious when blown up the DV, the resolution of the DV image, actually help up pretty well.
