Can anyone recommend any guidelines for basic adjustments that should be made whenever calibrating the HVX prior to a shoot?

Example:
step one: focus,
step two: white balance,
step three: adjust iris,
step four: adjust shutter speed.
Is there anything else? Can anyone recommend a different order for these steps?

Thanks for any help.

Add to that things like the recording format, scene file selection, and OIS mode selection.

And last but not least don't forget your audio -- checking the input selection (channels), XLR power, LINE vs. MIC level, audio output of the mikes if applicable, the level dials on the camera, and monitor using a good headset.

To obtain shallower d.o.f. (unless you have a 35mm adapter)

1) totally open the iris
2) set the lights/shutter/ND filter to obtain the right exposition
3) white balance (compare always the manual WB with the preset BW to have a reference
4) focus
5) shoot!
