HEH, anyone else not feeling pitty for a guy that leaves a gun laying around on a table loaded? I think he should feel lucky considering other option: guns knocked down hits his fiancee in the head. etc.
But who knows, my theory is the dog is secretly in love with the fiancee and tried to take him out of the picture. Just try to prove it false :P

The best part is this line:
Police refused to name the victim as they do not plan to file charges in the shooting, which they've ruled as accidental.
Good to know they weren't planning to try and indict the dog, that saying about being able to indict a ham sandwich not withstanding...

Yeah I feel bad for laughing but I just keep imagining:
Owner: No! You can't have any pizza! ::Gets up from the table with Pizza Hut pan crust and snarls, leaving .22 behind::
Dog: Oh for real? ::Shoots::

I wonder if I could get away with murder by making my dog sleep by the crime scene.

"I knew he was smart, I didn't think he was that smart," the victim's fiancee, Miesha Lucas told MyFOXMemphis.com. "He was always protective. I didn't think he would be like that."

haha!
Ok, either this guy had a very cheap semiautomatic or a revolver with the hammer cocked. Either way, he had it ON the table which means it was out in the open AND in a condition to dishcharge at merely being bumped or knocked off the table. All this while he is sleeping?. Not exactly a good tactical choice for home defense.
My heart really goes out to the dog. He looks like he feels pretty bad about it.
