Ok, i've done several searches on the topic and tried different things but i'm coming up empty. I just bought the fs100 and I'm trying to shoot with different frame rates on my HVX. I've tried different settings (P2, P2N, QT, QTN) I am fairly new to the technology but i'm trying to figure out how to shoot in VFR and import into final cut. I'm starting to think i'm just dumb so...can someone please explain the steps to me as if that's my problem, i'm just dumb.

Which settings can I use to shoot VFR with firestore?

When I playback footage with FS100, it doesn't show the change in frame rate.

When I import to FCP I imported the footage, both QT and P2. The Quicktime file came up with an error and the P2 file showed no change. I read about the frame rate converter but I couldn't get the plugin to show up under Tools in fcp.

If someone could please just run through the steps for me and explain the process I would be very grateful.

Thank you,

K

You shoot 24 over 60, and then use the FRC in FCP to create the slow motion.

There is no native support (yet) for doing it in the FS-100.

I can't get the FRC to show up in Tools tab of FCP. I downloaded the plugin but can't find it.

Ok, i researched a little more and i'm gonna try to get the FRC off of the FCP extras disc instead of the download off the Panasonic site, hopefully that will work. One more question though, you say there is no native support for VRF with fs100. Is it best to use the P2 format rather then Quicktime on fs100 for importing into FCP and using FRC?
