Hi, I've read the fine manual(s) and faqs and forum threads and just about anything one can get on the internet and still can't get it right.
Have: hvx200/fs-100/fcp 6
Trying to do slo/fast mo. Understand it can either be done 'in camera' (vfr) or with fcp (frc). At least that's my assumption this morning.
None of my settings so far have worked so I won't bother illustrating my profound stupidity.
What I think I should be setting:
hvx
REC SETUP: 720/24P
SCENE FILE: 48fps
fs-100
DVCPROHD REC
QUICKTIME PN
fcp 6
DVCPRO HD - 720p24

Thanks
Barry Ringuet

Your settings all seem right.
But you have to use the Panasonic Framerate Converter to convert your slomo clips to 24fps in FCP.

You can find it here (http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=93120&catGroupId=34401&surfModel=AG-HVX200&displayTab=R)

Import your clips to FCP.
Select a clip in your bin, then go to tools and choose the Framerate converter.
It should open a dialog box wiht some options - at that point just export it as a new QT file, and the result should be a 24fps slo-mo file.

The FRC is integrated into FCP 6. I don't think there is any need to download it.

Thanks Gents but now I'm getting msgs telling me I can't use the frame rate converter because the clip isn't 50fps.

If you are going to use the FRC, then you must not remove duplicate frames at ingest.

ah there's actually no ingest, more like connecting the fs-100 to the mac pro & copying individual qt files to a drive attached to the mac pro & then opening a new project, setting easy setup params to HD 720p 24fps
