artifacts accentuated in wood background

Is it just me or does footage involving wood texture have ugly looking artifacts. It picks up moving artifacts in my footage. Looks like ugly compression. Even though i am lighting it pretty good. Its not like its underlit. I will try to provide some examples but for the moment i would like your guys input in it.
