How to transfer Files to Mac G5

Maybe I am an idiot but I cannot seem to figure out how to transfer files from a P2 card in an HVX-200 to into Final Cut 6 on a mac G5. I have followed the instructions exactly on copying from P2 cards to the hard disk drive on page 84 of the owners manual, no other instuctions seem to have anything to say on the subject. Running FCP Studio 6 on Dual GHz G5 with OSX 10.4.10. Please Help!!! Thank You!

1. plug in HVX with p2 cards loaded
2. set HVX to its fireiwre host mode (hold down the button on the back)
3. open FCP
4. Goto file>Log and transfer
