I'm gonna be out on the ocean shooting with my hvx200. Anyone know how to best protect the equipment from water splashes etc.? Is there something "off the shelf", or do I have to construct something myself?

It's perfect! Pretty pricy though...

Wow that's not half as bad as I'd think it would be... That is just like the price of a mattebox or new tripod.... actually less.

This just made my list of possible future items.

i just did this for a long weekend...
my advice,

stay calm and try not to think about
your 8 grand hanging over the water.

stir,
sip and
enjoy

This same bag (never used) went for $400 on ebay 2 weeks ago.
Keep your eyes open for bargains.

I have and use this bag for shallow work. It does a pretty good job.

Just got the EWA at NAB and used it for snorkeling to 10' below in Panama.

Worked perfect .... as far as keeping out water.

However, it is difficult to see what your image is for framing purposes.

I found I had to change the way I shot and composed the U/W shots completely.

If you are swimming with the cam in front and trying to see the image, good luck if you have a mask on.

thats the cheapest you are going to get with still being able to use must of your settings on the camera.
Only other thing around the same price is the Epic camera housing but all you get with that is rec/pause function.

If you just need splash protection, you could get a KATA or Petrol rain slicker.
Using the EWA bag you wont get any usuable sound.

The KATA CRC-15 has been a really good slicker but it is NOT water proof, only good for light splashes or rain.

Hope this helps,
