heres some more stills from my test shoot..this isn't barry perfect just some stills the gamma curve on the HPX was HD Norm with Master ped =0
Both at 1/60 Shutter

these are full rez Jpg so there is some compression...

the HVX was Cinne gama V with Master Ped -4

HPX with fuji lens at 130mm or full zoom... at F1.8

HVX200 @ 600mm backed up 3ft to match...at F/5.6

The Fuji is a long lens almost = to a 600mm at that length at F1.8 you do get great shallow depth of Feild... on the Red rock I was at a 5.6 and at that lens I would be hard pressed to try to get any less depth of feild...

The Fuji also has less breathing at this point on the lens then any where else...still not as good as a prime but very minimal...I'll try to show this in video latter...

HPX-500 at almost full wide @ about a F/2

HVX-200 with redrock with 50mm lens @ F/2

this was hard to match because the fuji lens Breaths so much at full wide I estimate the lens to match around a 35mm lens depending on where your focused...here the M2 depth of field is night and day difrence...

This isn't a scientific eperiment just a fun test day...we didn't take time to match cameras...just shot stuff..

make conclusions with that grain of salt...

Vincent, thanks for sharing the images.

I wanted to compare your HPX and HVX/M2 images when they are around the same luminance with a similar grade. I am no colorist, just had a quick play and came up with this, approx range of the HVX grade.

Helps me compare, so I thought I would post these.

The second still with the HVX200 + M2 Destroys.

The first on the 600mm is seriously soft.

On both occasions, with just still images here, they're both good enough.

fun.

I don't think we have seen enough to truly compare, but with what has been shown so far, I like the HVX, but hey, I am super bias after all.

Thanks vincent!

I know this wasnt scientific - but to really compare you need to compare identical focal lengths (which will result in different image sizes) and/or same image size at same distance - basically control all variables except one - that will help see apples to apples how they compare.

but nice first test Vincent

Vincent

FYI we have some folks who have now got the redrock M2 fitted and working on the panasonic HPX500 so it may become less of a one vs. another. sounds extremely promising
