HVX Focus Assist

2 Quick Question with Hopefully simple answeres:

1) When I hit the focus assist button and nothing happens, where do I go in the menu to make sure it works? Can't seem to find it.

Focus Assist only works in HD (720 or 1080) -- are you recording 480?

that might be it. i've been shooting in 480, 720, and 1080 over the last few months. i never distinguished between when the assist would work and what resolution i was shooting at. Hopefully that was it.

If you were in fact in a 480 recording mode at the time, that was indeed it. This limitation is mentioned in the "USING FOCUS ASSIST" section of the manual.
