Wow, this one has me stumped.
It just started a few days ago on a shoot. I can put the HVX into record but when I press the record button again to take it out of record it won't stop recording. I have to turn the unit off in order to stop recording.
Sooner or later I have to turn the unit off and on in order to go into record.
I've tried the reset button (works better for a minute but the problems come back fairly quick).
I upgraded to the newest firmware about amonth ago and I felt everything was fine.
Anyone seen this before?
Thanks

A couple of days ago, I was testing some time lapse at night and found that I could not stop the recording. Is that what you were doing? I don't think that it lets you stop recording in time interval mode...which is absolutely retarded. After that shooting in other modes is fine...but...
Yesterday, I did some more testing and found that the color bars would pop up and wouldn't go away. Now it might have been because I was hooking up and pressing audio related buttons for my wireless mic, but I am not sure. I'd better post this problem too. Let me know if you were doing time lapse recording when it didn't let you stop.
good luck.

Hey Viet,
Nope, I wasn't doing any time lapse recording. Just 720PN. Since no one else has seen this it looks like it's repair time. I can't complain, I've had a solid year and 3 months of trouble free shooting.

I tested it early today with NO problems. I was able to go in and out of record as normal.
My shoot started at 12:30 - after about 15 minutes the symptoms started again.
Could it be heat related?
Nobody's seen this before?

Yep, that sounds like a repair issue to me. Damn, that sucks. It's a great camera, be even better if it didn't have issues. Good luck.

matreyia,
When you're in 'interval' record mode, or something similar, you can stop the recording by pressing the 'stop' button on top of the camera. I'm not sure why you have to press that, but you do.
