I've used B&H often for photo/video related stuff because I know they are reliable, and for the longest time I was looking for a place that sold HVX's that either had good package deals or were rock bottom BUT were not run by some crooked Jersey types (no offense to New Jersey).
I pretty much gave up and ordered from B&H since I know I'm likely to actually get what I order.
For future reference what are some other sites that are reputable and offer good prices for media gear?

Shawn Tallard at fullcompass is another one who will help you out when ever you need it. I order something online and that afternoon I get a phone call to say thanks and to let me know my monitor is shipping. Pretty impressive service and their prices are pretty good.
Spec-comm is pretty fan freaking tastic as well. Andrew is here on the boards all the time helping out and is a great guy. They also are an authorized panny service center and I've heard great things about that side of their business as well.
Personally I'm not a big BH fan. I still use them rather often but doing anythign I can not too. If there is any problem with your order be prepared to sit on hold for hours and wait a month or so for any sort of resolution. 60% of the time they are great though :)

just got my hvx200a and accessories from spec-comm a few weeks back. with the 2% off for paying with a certified check, i upgraded a few accessories (got a nicer protective filter for example) and still paid less (than at b&h) by a few dollars. not to mention you actually get customer service.
b&h on the other hand is a different story. i ordered some mini dv tapes a year or so ago from them, about a 6 weeks before i needed them. and i ordered them with whatever shipping type that was supposed to take 10 days or less. 5 weeks later, no tapes. and when i called (and finally got to talk to someone) their answer was to order more. WTF??? no, "we'll see what happened" or "we'll get another order out to you", but "place another order". f you. that and 9 out of 10 people in the nyc store know absolutely nothing about their products.
sorry about the rant. point being, just as good of a price from spec-comm, and i had my order in 2 days. just ordered some more gear today from spec-comm as a matter of fact. that's what good customer service will do for you.

I'll see your rant and raise you one :) Ordered a tripod head and it took them 4 weeks before they could even tell me where the head may or may not be. Repeatedly refused to to refund my money and told me they would get back to me after talking to the mfr rep. Never would get back to me. Finally contacted the mfr myself and told them what was up and they explained that there was a backorder and that BH should know that. BH is full of idiots. If you want something fast and a dealer you can trust you cant go wrong with Spec Comm or Full Compass.

I havent had a bad experiance with BH yet, but I've never needed to talk to there CS department. The other thing, you can not beat BH for the amount of stuff that they stock. Its just impossible. Spec Comm may be alot better in every other way, but when they dont have something, BH prolly will. The other thing is that BH usues BillMeLater, wich is great for thsoe of us who dont make tons of money every day.
