Hello everybody,

this is my first project for a DVXUser festival and I'll give my best to get a nice ad out in time. You may not notice from my post count but I've been lurking around this place for a very long time soaking in all the nice work and usefull information around here. Initially I had a script and was planing to submit a piece for Spyfest but it fell through due to lack of time. This time it won't happen again I said to myself.

The ad is now up for viewing:

Here's some of our equipment:

DVX100BE
Brevis 35mm Adapter
Nikon lenses

The final cut is now finished and I'm deep into getting the effect shots done. Next on the list is the sound recording/mix and finally some music. I'm still looking for a composer though.

That's it for now. Off to working again.

Hello everybody. My entry is now finished and uploaded and I hope it gets clearance from the judges. I'm very proud to have finally submitted a piece of work to this contest and I hope you'll like it.

I'd like to thank my main actor Seyni, who was very collaborative and motivated during the shoot. He actually didn't have any spare time to shoot this ad but drove in from out of town for this day anyway. Just great.

Thanks also to my brother Bernhard for acting and helping me out on the shoot.

And finally a big thanks to Leandro Gardini for his awesome score. In just a week he delivered a perfectly matching soundtrack that really adds to the images. A real artist.

Well, good luck to everybody else. Can't wait for all the other entries.

/Martin

Well done! I like how there's very little background info on a lot of the shorts that people are submitting. Makes me all the more eager to see what people have come up with. Good luck!

I have some more BTS pictures and infos I could share but that would give away the identity of the product. I'll wait after the viewing has opened.

That's really been the hard part about this fest this go around. Usually these threads are filled with pics, diaries, etc.

But at last, the time is here! Good luck and congrats on finishing up.

Very nice work. Had a human touch to it and felt like one of those Nike/Adidas ads.

I really like the look of your commercial and the color grading was awesome.

Hey there, fellow shoe ad maker.

I guess we're on the different sides of the spectrum. My demographic lies on the beach, smokes and shops mindlessly.

Nice ad. Well shot and sells the product well. I've noticed a few ads on here which are great cinematography wise but aren't very good at presenting the product. Yours isn't one of them.

Thanks for your comments. The Nike ads definetely were an inspiration for this one. I love their use of slomotion.
Color grading was something I've been testing a lot lately and this piece was a first real world test. Glad that you liked it.
