Hi all,

I puchased an XL2 used from a fellow member and I don't think it came with the metal accessory bracket that I've read about on the internet. I'm looking to get a FS-4Pro for it, and would rather mount it on the back of the camera to help with the weight. However, I do not have this bracket, and that seems to be the only way I can mount it. :(

Also, I called up canon support just now, and both the tech support and their parts department told me that its not a part they offer, so they basically have no idea as to what I'm talking about.

I think its this bracket:

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance :)

This bracket should come with the camera. Ask the guy that sold it to you what he did with it. Maybe Canon will sell you a replacement.

He had bought it from someone else, I guess. Canon proved useless because they had no idea it even existed lol

Contact Canon. Tell them you want to replace the " Adapter Holder" as shown on page 8 of the XL2 manual under supplied accessories and they will probably know what it is. Good luck. Please let me know how you make out. BTW I'm original from BKlyn NY

A friend of mine told me that B&H can replace the lens hood on the 20x. Don't know about the accessery plate. Would like to here from you Mike. Let us know if you were successful. BTW thanks for your input James. Good to have that info just in case.
