What's a good, cost effective way to make a bounce card?
So far what I'm planning to make is a large foam core, one side with aluminum foil... if this is the best option, should I be using the dull or shiny side of the foil? Thanks.

I've used tons of DIY things and have found that car sun reflectors work pretty good. You can even get them in gold. :cheesy:

try checking ebay for 5 in 1 reflectors. i think it's amvona that makes the ones i got. i got 3 different sizes for around $50 bucks. one of them is almost 4 ft by 5 ft and they work great and fold down very compact. well worth playin the ebay game for.
thanks

Just buy a piece of beadboard and foamcore - that will give you silver, dull white, and shiny white.
Home Depot and Lowes selll foam beadboards. Some carry ones that have one side white and one side aluminized. They come ready to use, just pull off the plastic cover. look in the insulation department.

I used the dull side of the foil. The shiny side creates too many unwanted speculars.

I bought this great emergnecy blanket, that had a honeycomb pattern on it. I was able to contact cement it to a 48" x 48" board. The pattern diffused the light just enough to give a great spread, without losing directionality(sp?) and kept the speculars down

dull side of aluminum foil on a piece of cardboard or white poster board or foam core board... if you wanna keep it for several shoots.

At $50 for a 5 in 1 just buy one, it'll last you years.
