Ok I just want to be clear on something as I am nearing the end of editing my first project using FCP 4.0.

I need to now add titles at the begining and credits at the end. How can I add to the beginning without throwing my whole project out of sync because it is a Music Video.

Do I open up LiveType and formulate my titles there and then import them into a NEW sequence in FCP then copy and paste my project to that NEW sequence so everything is in the same sequence. Does that make sense? If this is the case, how do I copy and paste the entire project from the timeline to another sequence? I am a little confused at that. But that is what someone told me a while back.

Is there a way to push the contents on all my tracks (3 videos and 6 audio) forward BUT in sync, leaving a 1 minute black hole at the top for the titles to go?

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

It would be better to leave everything in your current timeline so that you do not have to render anymore than needed.

There is a select all tracks forward tool in the tool palette, it is the two arrows pointing right. Select that then click at the beginning of your timeline, which will select everything, move it all to the right, and insert your clip. When done if there is a gap between the intro and the rest of your timeline, right click in the gap and select close gap. I am sure you know most of this, just wanted to be thorough.

You can put credits at the end using the scrolling text.

Hope it helps.

by the way, I would like to check out your video when it's finished.

Not to beat a dead horse, but a simple insert edit should do the trick as well.

When you have a title in the viewer that you want to insert at the head of the video, move the playhead in the timeline to the head of the music video and hit F9 (or drag the image from the viewer over the canvas and drop on Insert). This should insert the video in the Viewer and ripple everything down the timeline.
