The issue with the CAVISION shoulder mount is two fold. 1/ The part that goes on your shoulder has no padding. 2/ The Shoulder mount is all forward heavy often making it difficult to operate for any length of time as your arms are doing ALL the work. After a long time your back starts to compensate - and then ouch.

Ive got all my parts together to remedy this for myself as I use it a lot. Tomorrow I am going to construct it. Ill make sure to take photos, its really very simple.

I am interested to see. I will construct my Cavision when I get my 15mm rods replaced soon.

NCJE,

Definitely post this when you get it done? Cavision has been really responsive to user suggestions in the past - especially if they are able to reconfigure or modify existing parts. Good luck!

Ok Ive got it all together. Im waiting for the metal adhesive to dry, then paint. Might be tomorrow before I can present it. Paint will take some time to dry etc. Ive taken a bunch of pictures.

Heres some pics. Final pic and some test footage late tomorrow Tokyo time.

No particular order: http://www.scarlet-films.com/SMNT/

Note the lead bars are 3 that I joined together. I found out today I can get the bars as singles of pretty much any weight - that would be better. Also, I found a guy that can manufacture the plate - bit differently - you would just slide required weight in as needed, but as I said to someone else already today the overall cost and mark up couldnt be high and wouldnt justify doing it - though maybe cavision can look at it.

Erik there is no actual drilling of the existing mount. Cavision parts come from the same mold so the holes are the rear of mount are the same as the front. If they could get the plate and weights, I thnk it would be much easier for them to do.

OK heres the final set up minus ff and whip. But I can actually use a focus puller with this set up now. Its so much heavier but due to the balance its so easy to use. Warning large image coming. And I just realised the bellows was compressed.

I wonder what an Anton Bauer Gold Mount and Dionic battery in the same spot would weigh by comparison. I've already got Cavision thinking about this.

Old thread. I m doing another version. Its pretty much the same though the weights will be placed on a longer bracket and lower.
