New member. Apologies if this has been covered, as it no doubt has.

I've bought a new 100B. I'm shooting a short film and like the fact that I can sync time code and transfer scene files, however it's a lot cheaper for me to get my hands on a 100A than a 100B. My main concern is:

Can I transfer scene files from a 100B to a 100A?

Can I have my 100B be my TC Master or just a slave?

Any other other issues to worry about re: 100B->100A?

Great to be able to post. Thanks!

You can't transfer scene files or "link" timecode to the 100A. You need to do this manually.
There are many work around ways to sync timecode. If the same remote control works on both cameras then in theory you can sync the TC - but, it will inevitably drift. The "A" is not able to have a remote focus if you're using it on a jib. And, the B does not have an intervalometer (time lapse setting). Those are the basics.

Hmmm.... I guess scene files aren't as big a deal because you set them and leave them during a shoot, right? So as to have a consistent look.

TC is... I thought I read in the manual that the 100B can slave to any device that generates TC, not that I want my 100B to be my B. I'd rather have the 100B be my A camera and use the 100A for B camera, but need to have dialogue sync.

if you use a slate or simply clap in front of both cameras (rolling) that is a very simple and cheap way to have a sync frame for post.

Be careful when you mess with the scene files! If you have it set one way and power down without saving the scene file, the file gets places back to normal. So make sure you save!
