How do I go about encrypting or encoding (not sure which term to use here) the DVD so that noone can simply make a copy of it? Will I have to get DVD Studio Pro to do that? I have been using iDVD to make the DVD's I have now. Could I take my projects somewhere and have it done?
iDVD was made mostly for consumers wanting to make DVDs of their home videos, not anyone wanting to do a professional DVD. Therefore, there is no CSS encryption, macrovision, Region encoding, or any other sort of encryption.
With DVD Studio Pro, you can customize the type of encryption you want. You can determine region encoding, copy protection, etc. That would be your best bet on a mac.

DVD-r general does not support copy protection. Even using studio pro, you need to make a DLT tape and make discs at a duplication house. You cannot write copy protection onto a DVD-r using a superdrive, or any other general burner out there. (Unless you own a DVD-authoring drive.)

okay what is a DLT tape? I am guessing its some sort of Digital formatted tape. Would I need some sort of special deck to use it in? So you couldn't even take a DVD-R disc directly to a Dup. house and have them burn the contents of your discs onto a copy protected disc?
