Hey gang!

Last night my brother and I projected a movie on the side of his neighbors house. It was awesome. Huge Screen, loud speakers, pool, spirits, good movie, etc.

It was such a HUGE success and so much fun we are planning on doing it again Saturday. I thought it might be funny and cool if before the movie we had a fireworks display via DVD.

Can anyone recommend a good fireworks display DVD with great visual quality and fantastic sound quality? I don't need it to be highly produced with fancy edits and cuts or booming music. I'd actually like it to look and feel like it would if we were watching them LIVE.

Let me know!

Thanks!
Rick

EDIT: Here is a picture to give you an idea of how big our makeshift side-of-the-house-screen we had. I know the framing sucks. Due to utter frustration I only snapped two shots. It was very dark outside so the shutter speed was on very slow and I broke my tripod and I didn't want to pause the movie to take the shot (or face the wrath of about 60 people) etc. But this should give you an idea of the cool factor...

I cant think of any right off the bat that are available commercially. Have you looked into a fireworks screensaver of some sort? I bet there's plenty of them online, probably for free even. Or maybe even make your own in AE/Motion and show those?

Hey, thanks for getting back to me! And, Happy 4th!

Yes, I thought about making something myself. Plus, I also wanted the animated concessions cartoon you normally see when you go to the drive-in. I thought about making that too. But, I think I'd just rather buy something.

Looking at Amazon, there are quite a few but not sure which one to get. I thought maybe somebody here has thought of doing the same thing and might have a suggestion or two.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I can't find a DVD with old time Concession Stand Ads either. Either one would be of great help thanks!

Just shoot the fireworks tonight and burn a DVD. It'll be the cheapest and best way to do it. You might even be able to sell a few and make some cash.

Wow, Rick that looks incredibly fun and cool.

I don't know of any fireworks DVDs, but that sounds like yet another awesome idea. At the very least, you could do as others have mentioned and shoot some yourself in a few hours. Good luck.

Hey gang!

As a DVXuser member we ALL know how it is to shoot. Preumably we LOVE it. Having said that, I'd MUCH rather have an already shot version of what I am looking for. :O)

Thanks Terry. I cannot begin to tell you how awesome the outdoor movie is/was. I HIGHLY recommend investing in a decent sound system and simi-decent projector (we used a DELL MP2200) and it was a TON of fun. A neigbor had the Wii but we didn't get a chance to hook it up.
