copyrights issues?

I'm working on a film now and want to film the tv screen a couple of times. Does anyone know whether or not there are copyright issues in doing this? Most of the tv shots are background but in some shots the tv screen is the dominant feature. I was hoping to show either news footage or commercials, not sure if the issues change depending on which I go with. Any thoughts? Thanks.

It's a copyright issue, ESPECIALLY if it's prominently featured.

its all copyright. why not just put some of your own stuff on the screen? unless you need specific material, like Gomer Pyle or something, then you definitely will need a sync license.
