Would the HPX 500 be the right choice for a small market news station to use for ENG? Right now, we have the 200's and they suck as ENG cameras....they may be great cameras, but they are not designed with the news photographer in mind.
I'm working on management to convince them they bought the wrong camera, but I need to know if the 500 shoots better. My main problem with the 200 is shooting outdoors or anything that has any sort of backlight. Does the 500 deal with this better?
The 2000 is not an option and I'm thinking they want an HD cam for when/if we ever make the switch.

Hello Nick,
The 500 would work great for news gathering applications. We have many news stations that are our clients and they use the HVX200 a lot. They seem to like them. However, if the 200 isn't working out and you're already setup for the P2 workflow, the 500 would be the obvious choice next to the 2000.
Let me know if you need any brochures on the HPX500. I have some here that I can get over to you. Just drop me a PM with your contact info and I can get them in the mail today.

Nick,
I think you would love the 500's for ENG.
I am only about 40 minutes straight east of you (Gridley, IL). I have 2 of the 500's and you are welcome to come over and check them out if you like.
Which affiliate are you with over there?
