Can a regular DV deck (i'm thinking of buying the sony dsr11) be used for editing a 24frames p/s footage? I'm using fcp4.
Simply said, do i need to buy a special video deck to play (capture) 24frame p/s footage?

If you're playing (capturing) footage shot on the DVX, it's written to tape in standard 29.97 (drop) frames-per-second video.
This meaning, you can play the tape back in any minidv deck and it will play correctly (because the dvx adds a 3:2 pulldown in camera).
To EDIT true 24p once the captured footage is in your system, you would just remove that 3:2 pulldown and extract clean 24p frames with cinema tools or the like.
So the short answer, is no, you don't have to have a "special" deck to capture dvx footage.
