shine effect

Hi,

i am making wedding video and i would like to make short sequence before dvd starts. There will be "first kiss" and after i want screen to get white. Can anyone give some advice how to make it in AE?

depending on your version of After Effects, if you have 7, there is included on the disc a bunch of CC plugins. One is CC light rays. While it is not quite as good as Shine or the Light Rays effect offered by Sapphire, it can get the job done, and it come with the program.

It has it's limits, but careful use of it, even in multiple instances can give surprising results, almost that of Shine.

As for fading to white, you can either do that ny keyframing Levels, or by applying a white solid set to Add or Color Dodge, and increase it's opacity from 0% to the point you want the shot to be blown out.
