Looking at getting the HPX500 and trying to figure out which way to go lens wise. Has anyone had any experience shooting with either the primes or the zooms in the HD cinema lens category from Canon? How do they compare with the lower end glass that comes with the Panny packages? (catagorized as ENG EFP lenses by Canon).

I shot last week with the HDX900, I was blown away. So here's a question, do I get the 900 with lower end glass, or the 500 with a cinema lens.

Has anybody A/B'd the 900 and the 500?

Thanks!

Just from what I've read, I'd get the HPX500 with the cinema lens, especially if I'm doing features and commercials etc. I'm guessing that while the resolution on the HDX900 is a little better; that it's not double the price better. Also, it doesn't do the variable frame rates. Also, I love the P2 on my HVX and I couldn't imagine going back to tape on the HDX900. The 500 is P2 and that is another plus for me.

I'm betting that the money would be better spent on better glass.

That is my humble opinion.
