I know its not more of a camera feature but is it possible to use hvx or dvx with a help of a software to broadcast an event live.

There will be only one end user logged in as it's a wedding where parents of groom can't make it so they would like to be a part of it

Any help would be great

Thanks

sure, why not? just find some webcam software and select firewire as the source. done. its just going to depend on their internet connection as far as how well it will work when viewed...

QT broadcaster off the Apple site will do it (free) but you'll need a serving site as well as a good connection.

Also Windows Media Encoder is another great way to go - also free, and you can have up to 10 people viewing directly from the encoder software without need for an adiation server (provided you have the bandwidth available).

If its just the parents watching why not us ichat if you have a mac or similar if you have a pc. They can watch, listen and talk to anyone at the wedding. You can even set a place for them at the table and set down the laptop in thier place. Its free software already on the mac and you won't need to do anything different other than getting a internet connection and yes you can use the HVX
