Asking for some advice...
Can anyone suggest what should be bought with the HPX500? We have a couple of HVX200s...8 4gig and 4 8gig cards...a single Miller tripod DS-10 which I want to upgrade to something better. We're a Mac studio and probably want to get a Blackmagic card for a MacPro. We have about 20 grand to budget extra...over and above the cost of the camera. Appreciate any suggestions. Our MacPros are 8 core with 5 gig ram and dual 500 and 750 internal drives. We have no raids other than the soft raid 0 for the 750s. The second 500 is backed up to the main drive. We do not have studio HD monitors.

Our video is almost all corporate video for the web, but we also do corporate event coverage, including concerts. The HPX500 may be overkill in general, but we also do some hidef projects and h.264 short forms out more and more. (The HD also gives us a lot more flexibility in post).

Anyway thanks in advance.

Since you say you do event coverage, you may want to consider a firestore for longer record times. I'd also get:

Mattebox and filters
Remote zoom control
HD Field monitor
Good Camera bag
Batteries (I like IDX lithium Ion)
