I have vertually zero experience in sound, so please bear with me. I have a pair of Sennhieser digital ready headphones I use when working with audio. I'm mixing some narration with some music...here's the problem: it sounds good in the headphones, but when transfering back to tape so I can listen to it on the t.v., it seems like the levels are different--some of the music washes out and the narration gets very muffled. I tried going to stereo, which helped a little, but still it sounded like crap. Using just the computer speakers was better but still not acceptable. How do I maintain the clarity I hear in the headphones into other sound platforms?

thanks

you need a program that can do speaker modeling. what that does is use a nice pair of audio monitors(production or studio near field monitors for accurate audio replication) , and make them pretty accurately replicate the sound of your production on various listening devices. so you can hear what it would sound like on a tv, or boombox, or factory car stero, or theatre, and lots and lots of other specific setups..even make your own setup to test out. or you can simply old school it by testing it out on different setups, and tweaking it to sound good on the average target setup.
