View Full Version : PAL users: How many FPS would you like?

Something I had been hoping for from the HPX was that variable framerate PN footage would include sound and that we might get even more than 50fps in PAL land (as the cam shoots 60fps for NTSC). No joy on the former, its still necessary to shoot 720p and conform to the framerate you want for playback if you want audio with your slow-motion. At first glance its also no joy on the second point. However, in discussion with Barry Green we wondered if 60fps footage captured in NTSC mode could be conformed to 25fps for playback in PAL. So... I took my 34sec 60fps clip into cinema tools conformed to 25fps and in no time at all I had a 1'23" 25fps clip playing nicely alongside my pal 720 footage in FCP. Nice. Super duper slow motion.
