VideoCoPilot, Andrew Kramer, says that you can use for example a Sega system, Nintendo system etc., to connect to your PC and then use it in After Effects to lower the render-times.
How would i do that?
i've got an xbox free to use.
Here is an application that you can use? http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Others/DrQueue.shtml
How do i connect the xbox to my pc, how can i use it in after effects?

Here's a quick tute on using your XBox to lower AE working time.
1. Unplug the Xbox.
2. Put the Xbox in a drawer (out of sight)
3. Put all the games in the same drawer
4. Go back to your computer and launch AE
5. Get to work.
Since you no longer have the distraction of playing video games you can now get a lot more work finished in a 10 hour day.

Here's how I use my PS2 to lower render times:
Work, work, work on my AE project and then when its time to render, spin 3 times to the left and then 2 to the right and start playing Grand Theft Auto while it renders away. I can play that game for hours - I love you Carl!! Before I know it the render is complete and Carl can go take a nap or something before he goes and busts some more caps and what not.
Jokes aside, isn't it at least kinda possible?

erm, just do it the proper way and get yourself some off the self AU rack mount PCs (dual cores,) set up a Mini LAN and hey presto.
Using Xbox/PS2/3 is possible but really not worth the extra hassle, they where only really designed for gaming.
And if you can't do that then, you could even use your old PCs that are laying about the house, even if say you added 1 old PC and your laptop as well as your main PC that is enough for a mini Render farm, you will have cut the time down to 1/3rd, (its about the number of total PCs).

You can actually do network rendering on PC's, its not that much faster but it does work, it exports series of images instead of video tho...
I belive Ahhron has a tutorial on it.
