I think its kinda a cool how they use the wave form..I played around with soundkey from trapcode and also other things but I can t get it going...Im still working on it with arahon's tuts from creativecow but yeah was wondering any one u AE guru might know how to achieve the wave form like this...

i would be interested to see how that was done, pretty cool effect.
okay im gonna answer myself and correct me if i wrong...
first off- - this kinda shot is really needed to be planned beforehand specially closeup camera movement( so much can be done from the AE camera)
second-osci wave form are created in different ways..and put into one single comp to have the different effect...
third- good machine needed and lots of work put in just to make those different waveform
I tried it and am rendering right now .. after playing around in ae i found that waveform have different presets which are quite useful..ill post it up once its done its not that good so dont be too hard on me!! lolz...

okay I did this in a hurry but the concept is same with the music video..only thing is u have to make more osci waves in one scene(different wave is better) luma matte the main character(close up shot is better but i dont have any close up shot of any kind), animate the waves to enter and exit and also use it for transition etc etc..the video might not look like or rather not even close to how nice the music video is but the concept is similar....

that looked pretty nice, only thing is the waves in the music video matched the beat of the music. I saw the sam freeze thing you did. Did you post that on the videocopilot blog, cuz I saw it there too.
I used soundkey and I track 3 ranges thats why the sound seemed like it goes offbeat but it actually moved to the beat and my mistake was tracking the low volumed sound when I shud have paid more attention to the bigger pitch to have more clear movement in the wave...but without the animation it actually moved to the sound..
oh sam freeze yup I saw one guy was asking abt the interacting with the box so I just made a little demonstration...

yes its in the bundle with trapcode.. u can get it from www.trapcode.com and it is definitely for AE!

you can also use the waveform and/or audio keys plugins combined. they come with AE
