Just wondering how many DVXers/HVXers are planning on attending SMPTE in Sydney next month? I've put my registration in...

Barry, any chance you can tell us when you'll be doing the HVX/HPX demonstrations promised in the brochure? I can only take one day off work and I wouldn't want to miss it!

I think I'll be doing a Chux Super Wipes TVC in Sydney at that time so will check it all out...

Cheers

I don't know the schedule yet... I'm supposed to be there all week but I don't have the schedule for when I'm doing what.

Thanks Barry, good to know. If they give you any more precise details, I'd love to know when the demonstrations will be held. I'm picking up my HVX from the shop next week and I'm going to try to quickly get hold of the HVX book, but I'd really love a live demo!

John Barry and Lemac and some other dealers down there carry the book, so call around and you may find it in stock and thus save on shipping/customs charges too...

Fantastic! I'm getting the HVX from John Barry, so I'll ask them for the book too. I need to get up to speed quickly as I'm off to NZ on a shoot in about 3 weeks...

Checked with John Barry and they do have the book, so thanks again for that tip! Even better, they are selling it to me at cost since I'm buying the camera there at the same time.

Sweet! Glad it worked out, and you get no import taxes or duties that way either.

Yeah, it's definitely cheaper than I could buy it online, and that's not even taking the exchange rate into consideration. Picking the lot up on Friday, so I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend!

Barry... you can tell the guys at Panavision that our Doco on The Snowy River is now being evaluated by the ABC here in Oz for a screening.. hoping to get some info today if they are going to run the show and when...

It was all shot using the HVX202 in 1080i... I think a first here in Australia.. the program looks pretty sweei with some amazing aerials and river shots...

Maybe they'd like to showcase some of the material at SMPTE... will let the board know if we get a screening...

Cheers
