So I am a proud HVX200 owner and now I have a a 500 in my stable as well.
A $27,000 bill from Panasonic that says I purchased this wonderful camera along with 4 16gb cards and a Fujinon lens.
Wonderful camera... a dream camera... but where oh where are my 16gb cards?
No estimate on arrival from my Panasonic guy and BH and doesn't have them either? An outfit that size? Are these things made of Gold? Why put out this great deal/ package for this camera (that I bought into) knowing you can't supply the media to shoot on? DId Fox broadcast buy up all my cards?
are they in someones desk drawer in Japan? Will the RED Cam come out before I see 16gb bliss? Will Hell freez over?
Just ranting.
I'll post footage when I can.

You bought from an authorized dealer and they ran out of cards? I know the camera bundles had priority over the new cards and they had been delivering with the earlier shipments. Now they've run out altogether?
Some of the CAC lenses were/are not availble , but now it's the cards? I had been thinking of buying the camera/card bundle just for the cards and then selling the body, but ..... no more cards?
16 GB cards are in short supply everywhere. Our Panasonic rep hasn't given all the details (at least not when I was around...) but every dealer has a limited allotment at the moment, including the big guys. So it's typically first come first serve.

I'll have to check the itemized breakdown on the receipt but , it was a whole package. Camera, Fujinon 17x1 cac, 4 16Gb cards.
By the way... all four cards came in last week. I will complain no more. We have begun shooting our next feature project... a wedding romantic/comedy. When I get a chance I will try to get some demos up. Right out of the box this camera is fantastic. Some great 60 frame slo mo stuff already.

Fox bought the HPX2000 cameras. These are not compatible with the 16 GB cards just yet so no they are not soaked up by the FOX deal. We shipped the orderes with the HPX500s and 16GBs about the same time frame, but from two different locations. QC on the camera is in NJ and the cards come into Kent Washington. If you bought from a dealer, it may be that they are shipping partials, don't know. The cards are shipping as we get them, but every HPX500 that we shipp has 16GB cards attached to them within the same month, without fail.

Thanks Jan. I was just busting a little bit of chops in my earlier post. I knew the cards were on the awy I was just anxious. Also some folks in HVX200 land seemed to think that the 500 purchasers were getting some kind of special treatment with regards to delivery of 16gb cards. As I said, I am very pleased with Panasonic and the folks we have been dealing with. The cards arrived and it has been a pleasure to shoot. The rep that I got the cam through has even put us in touch with a tech that has been helpful, and we have sent them some DVDs of some of our footage that they enjoyed. You guys are top notch.
Now, if the Hidef DVD war could end and we could get all our technologies to talk and play nice with eacother... I could have a cheap archive solution to put all these expensive shooting days on my shelf, instead of backing up one hard drive after another and praying there is no lightening strike in the area. And if Apple could put down its iphone for a minute and implement native MFX editing... but I dream. This is all cutting edge stuff, so we remain patient and smiling.
Thanks for your continued dedication to the customer.

We got our HPX500 2 weeks ago from an authorized dealer in the Northwest - no 16 gig cards and no Canon CAC lens. I guess we've got another couple of weeks before we can expect the cards/lens?
