On the Lot: Zack's new effect

Hey on the new on the lot, zack performed an interesting effect where the little girl reached out and grabbed the sun and brought it into her room, turing the day into night. I was wondering if anyone knew how this effect was achieved.

I would guess that the day into night thing is done with practical light outside the window. The "sky" is probably a backdrop and as she pulls the sun into the room they simply dim the light into total darkness.

How do you think the effect was made after she has it in her hand, and that being the only source of light?

I think it's probably an actual light globe that she has in her hand, since she moves it around quite a bit and the varying light source would have been a b*tch to stimulate. The shot of the globe down the bed was probably composited in, maybe using fractal to simulate the fiery surface.
