do I edited first or do my Ae first

hi, everyone
i am new to ae and I was just wondering,......after capture footage in fcp do i do my editing first before send to after effect or should I do my effect in AE and then edited in fcp....... or tell me how you guys normally do it

Edit first, render out the portion that needs fixing uncompressed, work in AE, render again uncompressed and render out final time in NLE.

I use Premiere so I can just import the project file into AE and work back and forth. Love the integration.

I would suggest trying out the new cs3 production suite, that way you can use dynamic link and edit what is in your timeline with out rendering it out.

He use FCP though so that wouldn't be available.

ya, its too bad that cs3 is the only recent version to support the mac with premiere, but better late than never. What are your computer specs?

I got a power mac g4 with 1.25gb dual... still a good computer but I wanna get cs3 and put it in pc or a computer that run both, mac and pc

you should go to adobe.com and try out the trial version and see how it runs on your computer.
