If Tim comes up with the cash or girls he gets to direct. If he doesn't he's grunt-boy again. So we'll see.

No crew yet but we're hoping to suck some people in. Beer, Babes and Blackjack baby. Come on Down L.A. DVXers!

What I find disturbing is that after spending 14 years as a trial lawyer this advertising game seems all too familiar to me ...

Mark Johnson

up to 20 pages yet?

Our script is only 15 pages right now but I think we may have to take a couple of the effects shots out to keep it under 30 seconds.

heheh ... I meant your thread ... I was checking to see if your thread was up to 20 pages yet
:2vrolijk_08:
but good call on cutting a couple of shots to keep the 15 page script under 30 seconds  That'll work like a charm.

Larry Rutledge
06-21-2007, 12:11 PM
Wait ... a page a second, so he's only half way there at 15 pages, right? .. Right? hello? ... wha-? a page per minu-- Oh, never mind...

And, yes, I do know that the "page per minute" only applies to feature length scripts. Gosh, just let me have my fun, will ya? http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d189/dimebar_probably/Smileys/th_chainsaw.gif

Mark Johnson

The first eleven pages of our script are character direction so we don't hit dialog until page 12.

Brandon Rice
06-21-2007, 03:44 PM
Character direction, or description?

Larry Rutledge
06-21-2007, 03:49 PM
Hey Mark, if you write a snake into the script than you can use some of that footage from an older, non-released fest entry ... might save you a little production time

Brandon Rice
06-21-2007, 03:50 PM
And add some production value :)

Mark Johnson
06-21-2007, 03:57 PM
Character direction, or description?

Most definitely character direction. With such a limited running time it is absolutely essential that each second convey as much meaning as possible. Thus, we are scripting nuances down to the pore level of the human face. How a blemish moves and the amount of spittle flowing from the corner of a mouth can paint volumes of meaning. Was it not Kafka who stated, "even the lowly zit can carry layers of meaning that confound and delight the most hardened heart"?

I actually have been doing some work on Chow Baby (I kid you not). My nephew has gotten well enough to come visit next month and we are actually going to shoot a couple pickup scenes! Cool huh?

No, Jack! Its a big surprise. He hasn't seen anything ... not even the roughs from ChowBaby. He knows we won the HorrorFest and he's dying to see the short but wants to wait to see it out here with the guys who were crewing with us on Chow Baby. I'll get some pics when we do the screening and post them.

Yo Ted!!!!!!! Good to see you!!! Have you got a script yet? Maybe something involving ..... burgers???

Ted Arabian
06-21-2007, 10:31 PM
haha! That's a great idea! I've been racking my brain! BURGERS! I love it.

As for a script... haven't had a chance! I've been slammed with work.... which is a good thing.

I'll be doing something. I've been wanting to have a demo for commercial work... this is a good start.

I wish that I was in CA with you... not going to happen for a while though. Diane just got a new job. She'll be teaching in Portsmouth, NH now and getting a very nice raise. We're here for at least another year. That's okay. I'll try and make the best of it. It is certainly worth the money.

Talk about the Odd Couple! A prime example of Hollywood Geek Love. Jessica and her boobs are a sad one-trick-pony. But I'm diggin' how Mayer is willing to flaunt his contempt for fashion and celebrity and go with the plaid western shirt over Hawaii print jams. He might as well be mooning the paps! Right on, John!

6:21 PM Heathrer Says:
Do her boobs have to show that much! Every dress I see her in boobs everywhere. I have to go wash my eyes now.

4:49 PM Poop Says:
Nice hideous brown platforms with your skank black dress, Jess. Big boobs just make people look trashy, there is no excuse for a person to have half of their entire breast exposed for the world to see. Guys want to bang girls that dress like that, but they certainly don't want to have a relationship with them.

Well, guys, sorry to report that Hyten and I got canned from the project. I guess we've been putting too much time in as consultants for Lindsey Lohan (don't you think our latest 'get-arrested-for-the-publicity' move is pure genius?)

We're going to look forward to seeing everybody else's submissions. We really did have a good concept but, alas, Tim's high-profile lifestyle interfered with our ability to get it finished. ....
