Wooohoooooo! The first AdFest thread.
Am I the first non-contestant to post in an AdFest thread? :)
Wish I had a camera. Alaska provides plenty locations to make a commercial.

New shoot date! July 14! I also need a crane if anyone has one and could come out for an hour, and we can grab one or two shots with it! Thanks!

UPDATE: We're rescheduling the shoot date, something has come up.
Larry Rutledge
07-03-2007, 04:28 PM
Rescheduling is fine. Canceling, however, is not an option...I've got a bad streak to try and break.
Norm Sanders
07-08-2007, 06:16 PM
Uh-oh, hope for Larry's streak he's trying to break that this goes through! Since there's been no posts to this thread for 5-6 days, it worries me just a tad ... c'mon guys, only three more weeks left!!!
Brandon Rice
07-08-2007, 10:33 PM
I just had a real hard break up Norm, so... :(
Norm Sanders
07-08-2007, 10:49 PM
Ugh, sorry to hear that, Brandon. That said, it's probably good for you to fill your time with some creative things to get your mind off of things!

Dating sucks, I recommend skipping straight to marriage. Then girls can turn from being a drag into being real helpers.
The year I dated my wife was probably the most unproductive year ever for filmmaking. But now I am getting more done than ever.
Larry Rutledge

Come on B-Dawg ... I'm countin' on you

07-09-2007, 04:06 PM
I don't think there's any words that can help anyone feel better after a close break-up. They say time's a great healer and such. I think Norm was spot on when he said that. It won't make you completly over the moon, but it helps you feel better for a short run. Planning on films works well i found out because theres just so much to keep you busy with. Though it doesn't work with everyone. All comes back to time. Best of luck. =]
Brandon Rice
07-18-2007, 12:50 PM
I am sorry to say, I am out... my lead actor is a little under-the-weather, and there's just no time to shoot, as I've been focusing a lot on my teaser trailer shoot coming up, and the upcoming film festival. Agh, it bothers me that I didn't finish this, the idea was spectacular.

I am sorry Larry, but you KNOW I AM doing Checkmate!

07-18-2007, 03:34 PM
I got the chance to read the script and I thought it was great, especially with Brandon at the helm. Sorry to hear you're out on this one, but always glad to hear when fellow filmmakers are too busy making other films.
Hang in there, Darth Larry. I'm sure there's still good in you.
Brandon Rice
07-18-2007, 03:55 PM
Thanks John! I appreciate the kind words!
Yeah, Larry and I are hard at work on Checkmate, so we're certainly not just kicking back ;0

The curse continues :crybaby:
Hey, wait http://forum.frag-mutti.de/html/emoticons/lightbulb.gif ... maybe I should write a script about that!!!
Ok, hey Barry/Jarred, when's the next DramaFest? I've got my story idea!!! http://www.x-pirat.de/images/smiles/4.gif Now, who wants to shoot it?

07-21-2007, 10:37 PM
Hey Brandon..since you're out..and you say you had such a splendid idea...and you know..i mean...its like July now...and I still have nothing..you know...? :)
Brandon Rice
07-22-2007, 12:51 AM
The deadline's August 1st man... I doubt you'd have time.... :(
Norm Sanders
07-22-2007, 01:33 AM
Brandon, you're kidding, right? We JUST shot our commercial this past Wednesday ... only a few days prep was needed, it's already in locked edit, and we're just waiting on final audio clean up & score.
A person only needs 4-5 days to really get a good one done, IMO. Ours isn't for the fest, but still ...
Brandon Rice
07-22-2007, 01:41 AM
Your's isn't for the fest? Well D-boz, hit Larry up, and see if he'll let you take a shot at producing the script :)
Norm Sanders
07-22-2007, 11:43 AM
Nope, if it was for the fest, I would have created a thread ... it's for the Heinz Top This TV challenge. We started to plan for that JUST before AdFest was announced. Toyed with the idea of taking the same commercial & tweaking it for Kinetica, but weren't convinced it would work out well, so didn't want to bother butchering it just for the sake of getting something into AdFest.
It'll be the first official fest, since I entered ZombieFest, that I'll have missed, but Ive realized I'm okay with not entering a fest as long as I'm doing something productive & creative.
If the next fest is comedy, I'll probably enter as well as push forward with an October shoot of BERLIN ... otherwise, I'll strictly focus on BERLIN, as well as continue to rebuild the funds for TRINITY RIVER.
Brandon Rice
07-22-2007, 02:40 PM
Cool stuff! :) And I agree, as long as you're doing stuff, it's all good to miss :)

07-22-2007, 07:45 PM
Sweet! I'm excited to see how you pull off Berlin!
Larry Rutledge
07-23-2007, 09:42 AM
Well, I sent the script to D-Boz ... hopefully he'll be interested in producing it http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_29_107v.gif

Brandon Rice
07-23-2007, 08:33 PM
Onto idea 3... first 2 aren't working... ugh!
Norm Sanders
07-23-2007, 08:39 PM
Brandon, you're cracking me up. You tell the other guy that there's not enough time to shoot a commercial now in time for AdFest ... and that was 2+ days ago with a completed idea. Yet here you are ... you go man!
Brandon Rice
07-23-2007, 08:47 PM
LOL... yeah, I might be crazy... who knows ;) Thanks for the encouragement.
Brandon Rice
07-23-2007, 09:08 PM
Back to idea #1...might need tomorrow night too.
Brandon Rice
07-23-2007, 10:02 PM
Idea #1 just won't work... back to the drawing board... hanging it up tonight.
Brandon Rice
07-24-2007, 09:25 AM
Screw it... I can't finish something here...
I've got a wedding video that's been sitting in my hard drive for almost two months I need to finish, and a host of other things to do... so I'm going to stop trying to kill myself over this thing... good luck to all!

Brandon,
You should just get drunk, have someone hold the camera on you, then cut it into a commercial.
Brandon Rice
07-25-2007, 04:23 PM
I don't get drunk bro... but thanks for the suggestion.

Brandon,
You should just get drunk, have someone hold the camera on you, then cut it into a commercial.
Thats actually a really good idea if you think about it really hard and actually picture it
lol
